You and your therapist will discuss the appropriate frequency for your sessions. Most clients begin with weekly sessions and may transition to biweekly or monthly appointments over time. Some individuals with acute symptoms may require twice-weekly sessions. While many clients remain in treatment for a year, therapy can continue longer based on your needs.
If your therapist believes that outpatient care is insufficient, they may discuss a referral to a day or residential program.

Yes. For teens and adults, virtual therapy can be just as beneficial as in-person sessions. For younger children who may benefit from play therapy, in-person sessions are often more effective; however, depending on the child’s ability to communicate, virtual therapy can still be beneficial. Your therapist will discuss the best format for your specific needs during the intake process.

The initial sessions focus on discussing your goals for therapy, and your therapist may ask questions about your history. This foundational work is essential.
Typically, interventions begin after the first few sessions, and your therapist will clearly explain their recommendations.

We do not have a prescriber on staff but can provide referrals. You do not need to be certain about pursuing medication to discuss it with your therapist. If you consult with a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner, please note that they do not expect you to be 100% ready to start medication; these consultations are simply to explore your options.
-
You will receive your therapist’s email address and work cell number upon introduction. Our cancellation policy requires you to notify your therapist at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. Cancellations made within 24 hours or missed appointments will incur a $100 fee.
If you use Medicaid, you will not be charged; however, after two late cancellations or no-shows, your therapist will need to discontinue services.
We enforce this policy to ensure fairness to our therapists, who are compensated only when they see clients, and to maintain the consistency of care. Consistency is vital for effective therapy.
-
Yes. Please communicate your preference to your provider so they can update their schedule. Our intake coordinator can then consult with you to find a therapist who is a better fit. Therapists understand the importance of finding the right therapeutic match, and we encourage you to share your feedback.
